Victory Poker Review

Victory Poker burst on the internet poker scene when it joined the Everleaf Gaming Network, which includes Poker4Ever and Minted Poker among others. They have aggressively signed some of the biggest names in live and online poker, headlined by Antonio “The Magician” Esfandiari. Now, as of September 1, 2010, Victory Poker is the newest site to join the Cake Poker Network. This is a huge boost for both Victory Poker and the network.

In joining the Cake Network, Victory Poker will see a nice jump in traffic and also became much more U.S. friendly. However, as of April 2011, they no longer accept American players. This is basically a move by the site with the long-term future in mind. They know that by not accepting US players now, they stand a better chance to join the US market once it opens up. They join sites such as Power Poker, Doyles Room and of course, Cake Poker on the network. As a result of their move, Victory Poker rakeback now pays out 33%, which is standard on the Cake Network.

Victory Poker support is available 24 hours, every day of the week, via Live Chat or email. This is a great feature that even some larger sites do not offer and just shows how much Victory Poker is focusing on the players.

Victory Poker Rakeback

Victory Poker Rakeback and Rake Structure

Victory Poker employs a No Flop – No Drop rake structure, which simply means that if the flop is not dealt, then no rake is taken from the pot, no matter how large it is. For all Pot Limit and No Limit games, Victory takes a rake of $.01 for every $.20 in the pot, which is 5% (it is the same for Euro tables). This is fairly standard for online poker. The maximum rake taken from each pot depends on the number of players in the pot and the table buy-in. In general, the maximum rake taken is $3, which is used at games with at least 5 players and buy-ins of $4 and up. The exception is at the $200 and above level for 5 to 10 players, where the max rake is $4. Games with only 2 to 4 players usually have a smaller maximum rake (except on $25 or less tables, where from 3 to 10 players allows a $3 max rake).

When you sign up for Victory Poker rakeback using our links and the Victory Poker bonus code 454, you will receive a 110% bonus worth up to $600. To receive the maximum possible bonus, you would need to deposit $546 on your first deposit.

The Victory Poker Download is very secure, easy and fast to install, and in a matter of minutes you can be playing on Victory Poker.

Victory Poker Bonus and Other Promotions

As stated above, when you sign up with Victory Poker through 2nd Shift, you will receive a $600 max bonus. The bonus will be placed into a bonus account pending bonus clearing. To clear the bonus, you simply need to play real money games on Victory Poker. As you play you will earn Frequent Player Points (FPPs). It takes 83.33 FPPs to clear $5, so to clear the entire bonus of $600, you would need to earn 9999.6 FPPs. Fortunately, Victory Poker gives 2nd Shift Poker players 90 days to earn this bonus, unlike the 30 days that many sites offer.

Victory Poker also takes part in the Gold Stacks, Gold Cards and Gold Chips reward programs that most Cake Network sites offer. By playing and earning FPPs, you will earn Gold Chips. When you earn enough Gold Chips, they become Gold Stacks, which are more valuable. You can then trade your Gold in for cash or merchandise through the Victory Poker rewards store. These Chips and Stacks add a lot of value to your account, especially if you do play a lot. The Gold Cards promo is more random. Cards are randomly awarded to someone at the table. However, the more you play, the more likely you are to get a card, which can be collected for more value or traded for tournament entries, cash and other prizes.

Victory Poker also loves to offer other unique promotions. Some of the promos they have run include the possibility of becoming a Victory Poker sponsored pro, Partying with Playboy Playmate Sara Underwood in Las Vegas and Partying with DJ/Producer Steve Aoki. Be on the lookout for more great contests run by Victory, they absolutely love generating hype!

Victory Poker Software

Victory Poker LobbyThe software at Victory Poker is fairly standard and somewhat mundane. That is not to say that it is not good, it’s just that it is not extraordinary.

The lobby is well organized, with filters available at the bottom of the table listing all the games and separate tabs for each game type – Hold’em, Omaha, Fixed Limit, No Limit, etc.

The tables themselves can be a bit cluttered, especially when playing full-ring games. Victory Poker uses the Cake Network 3-d looking avatars, which can be somewhat distracting for grinding. You can turn off the avatars, however you are still left with a bunch of empty seats. Not exactly how many players would prefer, but overall it really is not that bad. The table itself is quite a nice looking table actually. It is a dark grey table with the Victory Poker logo in the center.

They have the options you would expect from a quality online poker room, including a graphical instant hand history option. The rumor is that Hold’em Manager is working on including support for the Cake Network in the near future, although they won’t confirm this. However, they were asking for hand histories on their site, so that’s a pretty good sign! (edit: This is now live! Hold’em Manager now has full support for Victory Poker, although the HUD is not allowed to be used on the Cake Network sites.)

Victory Poker Traffic and Games

Victory Poker TableVictory Poker offers only the most standard ring games, such as Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, and 7 Card Stud. There are different varieties for most games, such as No Limit, Fixed Limit, or Pot Limit. Although they offer a decent variety the vast majority of the action is at the No Limit Hold’em tables. In fact the only other game that gets any action at all is Omaha, which has been growing quite a bit in recent months.

Tournaments have been increasing in traffic very quickly at Victory, thanks to their rapid increase in overall traffic, relatively attractive guarantees, and the fact that there is often overlay on the guarantees. Sit and Go traffic is pretty weak however, hopefully as the site gains in popularity the traffic will increase here as well.

Victory Poker Deposits and Withdrawals

For many people the easiest way to deposit on Victory Poker is with a Visa card. A pre-paid Visa debit card is a great option if you do not wish to use a personal Visa card or if your card is not accepted.

Victory also accepts MasterCard, UseMyWallet, Cash Transfer, Moneybookers, Neteller and other banking options. Check the site for the latest options though, as they are adding deposit methods as quickly as they can.

Withdrawals are generally paid out to the same method that you have used to deposit. However, you may also request a check, bank wire, and other options may be available depending on your location. Simply log on to the cashier through the lobby and you can see all of the options that are available to you.
